Three or four words
“INSIDE A $429K WAKE FOREST HOME” is already at the limit. A full title is unreadable and the title is right next to it anyway.
YouTube for real estate agents
YouTube is the one network in this cluster where a video you post today still brings leads in two years, because it is searched rather than scrolled. And the thing that decides whether anyone ever watches it is a 16:9 image judged at 210 pixels wide.
Thumbnails from listing photos
A real estate channel is really four series, and each one wants its own recognisable frame. Pick one to see the thumbnail on a phone, with the next video queued under it — which is the only place it is ever actually seen.
The 210-pixel test
Almost nobody sees your thumbnail at 1280 pixels. They see it in a sidebar, in a search list, or on a phone — usually around 210 pixels wide. Everything below follows from that.

Colour one word — the number, the place. At sidebar size the eye needs somewhere to land before it can read anything.
Same layout, same colour, same corner every month. Recognition is worth more than novelty on a channel with fifty videos.
YouTube overlays the duration in the bottom right and, on mobile, a progress bar along the bottom. Keep both clear.
What actually gets watched
A tour of a house that sells in three weeks stops being searched the day it closes. The videos that keep working are the ones about the place, not the property.
| Video | Searched for | Shelf life | What it is for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Neighbourhood guide | “living in [city]” | Years | Relocation leads, the highest-intent audience you can get |
| Cost-of-living / taxes | “[city] property taxes” | Years, with edits | People 6–18 months from moving |
| Market update | “[city] housing market” | One month | Sphere trust, repeat views from past clients |
| Listing tour | The address | Until it closes | Seller marketing — proof for the next listing appointment |
| Before / after staging | “virtual staging before after” | Years | Seller leads; the highest click-through of the five |
Same listing, same upload — different shapes and a different job on each.
YouTube questions
1280 × 720 pixels, 16:9, under 2MB. The number that should drive the design is 210. Three or four words, one coloured, text on the left.
It is the slowest and the most durable of the six. A Reel is finished in 48 hours; a “living in your city” video can still bring relocation leads three years later.
Not your listings. Start with the questions people type before they have chosen an agent.
Yes, and it is the fastest way to keep a channel looking consistent. A staged interior or a twilight exterior crops to 16:9 with room for the text.
Yes. Shorts are how a new channel gets found, and they are searched as well as scrolled. See the vertical video page.
Instagram and Facebook are live now
YouTube is coming soon in Social Pack. Until then, the same upload already makes the Instagram and Facebook posts.
